WASHINGTON - Arnold Schwarzenegger and Arianna Huffington continued squabbling a day after they turned the latest California gubernatorial debate into a chaotic snipefest. Keying off his debate crack that "I have a perfect part for you in 'Terminator 4,'" the columnist called on California's women to vote against him. She said she took his comeback Wednesday night as a reference to the actor's oft-repeated comment that he enjoyed stuffing a woman's head into a toilet bowl in "Terminator 3."
"That was such a clear and unambiguous indication of what he really thinks of women," she said. "I have never, in hundreds of debates I've participated in, been treated the way Arnold Schwarzenegger treated me."
Schwarzenegger said Huffington was nuts.
"I don't know why she picked that scene - I have no idea," he said at a town hall meeting broadcast on Fox News Channel. "The fact of the matter is, it was a compliment. In 'Terminator,' we always had powerful women. If she takes it the wrong way, it's not my fault."
In the wake of the critical debate, with both Schwarzenegger and Republican rival state Sen.Tom McClintock both likely to draw big blocks of voters, pressure grew furiously on McClintock to quit the field.
Schwarzenegger, who avoided attacking the conservative standard-bearer in the debate, made an oblique offer to McClintock.
"I'm looking forward to working with him in the future, because I think that he and I would make a great team," the actor said. "Tom is a terrific guy."
Polls show the Republican vote may split, allowing Democratic Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante to win if voters separately approve the recall of Gov. Gray Davis.
California's GOP has been ramping up the pressure on McClintock. Former candidate Bill Simon, who has a big following among conservatives, endorsed the movie star yesterday and Rep. Darrell Issa, the man who led the drive and bankrolled the push for a recall, plans to offer support today. He backed off his threat to tell voters to block the recall if one of the top Republicans didn't pull out.

She irritates the heck out of me, as does that other "progressive" gal at The Nation. The ultimate limousine liberals, although they adopt the pretentious "progressive" label to describe themselves. Arianna's sniping at Bush was inappropriate. I thought Arnold's best comeback was when he told her to go to New Hampshire is she wants to run against Bush. Heh heh.

"I could drive my Hummer through your loopholes" Maybe that's one big reason that Peter Huffington is now playing for the other team - the "loophole".

She could make a straight guy turn queer.Perhaps her personality could easily repel a man, but that is no reason for him to choose to live a deviant lifestyle. Michael Huffington surely could have found another woman if he wanted to.

Her attacks on Arnold were almost enough to make me support him - just to make her mad. Almost.

"That was such a clear and unambiguous indication of what he really thinks of women," she saidNo, it was a clear and unambiguous indication of what Arnold thought of YOU and I happen to agree with him. Also, what makes you think anyone regards you as a woman? Looks more like a she-male to me!!

No, it was a clear and unambiguous indication of what he really thinks of
you, Arianna.

Schwarzenegger undoubtedly is fighting a nearly irresistable urge to return the 'animal' name-calling by referring to Arianna as a female dog.

Think of being trapped in an elevator with her. Y'know, I always thought it was impossible to cut your own throat with a pocket comb. With sufficient incentive, however...

She is disgusting at best but the moderator was like judge Ito LOL! Well, if he truly was like Ito, he would have cried about the treatment of his Mommy many years ago, and fined the opposition for being "arrogant in my presence."

What a transparent ploy on the part of Huffington, to call on women voters not to support him because of what he said to her in the debate. What a load of bunk! Real women applauded that his return insult was ambiguous, sly, and much more restrained than her shoddy behavior deserved.

I also thought that whoever lost the debates would step aside, so let's recap, shall we? Arnold 32%, Tom 22%, Cruz 13%, Camejo ?, Huffington 4%. Maybe Tom should re-think whether the citizens of California (not just Republicans) will EVER forgive him if he foils the purpose of the recall, which was to get Davis and the Democrats away from the governor's seat.

Ahhhh, tha standard movie sub-plot for Arnold and Arianna.
The two male & female stars begin the relationship hating each other, squabbling and back biting while they are under the powerful emotional pressure of the moment. Then after the high anxiety event is finally resolved, the strong sexual tension is allowed to snap, and they end the bitter fighting by throwing themselves in each other's arms in a high energy embrace in the sack, and wind up falling in lust with each other.
Romance, Hollywood style.

Arnold was a pig on Green Acres. Eva Gabor made Lisa Douglas a very sympathetic character IMHO. Arianna is not.

She was and is just a front women for the Democrat Party. She is now owned by them and her issue was to really attack Bush.
For a women with all her wealth and to have only paid $1000.00 dollars in California taxes last year is an abomination and a slap in the face to every Californian.
It is amazing how many Democrats use this tax issue on the rich and in turn have so many tax shelters for themselves.
