Even if this is true, it's the wrong attitude. Let's play it as if we are 20 points behind. I can't imagine that most people would vote Dem after 9-11, and the mid-terms in 2002 would seem to bear that out. Nevertheless, lets work hard for a landslide and for more Senators. Would love the replace Shumer in NY. Gulliani, where are you???

I think an overly pessimistic attitude is at least as bad. People tend not to vote for someone they think is likely to lose.
