Dev - I honestly think that SP's continually calling Amber was more of a controlling issue rather than a "love" issue. He KNEW that Amber KNEW a lot. He was attempting, in a very manipulative manner, to control WHAT she found out and when.!! I can't believe that Peterson EVER really loved ANY woman.

Christmas day was the 1st day Laci's missing flyers were posted. The Rocha/Grantski's families also visited the Covena Ave home. Accoring to Brent Rocha the family did not open gifts.Christmas day was also the last day the Peterson home was used for the volunteer effort. It then moved to the Red Lyon Hotel. Who and where was the comment made that while the family was there, Scott was busy vacuuming?

Not love for Amber, but NEED of somebody to adore him. Amber did. She probably saw into him what she wanted at the moment: a knight in white armor to help her out with her single mom life. Especially in his transition period (planning, executing, and living down his wife's "disappearance") he needed a new adoring Mommy to get him through his days.

Well, I don't think a narcissistic type like that is capable of love, as normal people know it. To a narcissist, whoever/whatever they "love" is just a convenient mirror for their Almighty Self.

I bet he was even more interested in controlling how others thought of him, than in controlling what Amber knew. Narcissists want to reach down into people's private thoughts and if any of those private thoughts concern the narcissist, the narcissist INSISTS on controlling those thoughts. They also want to control what is said about them. If what is being said does not fit in with the narcissist's carefully cultivated "image", then the person saying it is going to meet with real hostility.

Yes, I think Scott wanted to control Amber in more ways than one.
