Scott Peterson exchanged at least 18 telephone calls with his girlfriend in the nine days before his pregnant wife disappeared, according to partial phone records. He also received at least 47 calls from Amber Frey to his cell phones in the three weeks after authorities believe he killed his wife and their unborn son, the records reveal.
All 65 calls -- totaling more than 3 1/2 hours -- were made at a time when Scott Peterson insisted that he didn't have a girlfriend.
Two of them came on New Year's Eve, the day more than 1,000 people attended a commun-ity candlelight vigil for the missing Laci Peterson.
Frey made more than 50 calls to police starting Dec. 30. Some of those calls were made after police were authorized to tap Peterson's phones, and court documents show the wiretaps picked up a call between Frey and Peterson as late as Jan. 20.
Frey figures to be an important prosecution witness in the high-profile case and has been protected by private guards.
Frey was not the only woman with whom Scott Peterson had an affair with, a source said. He had at least one other girlfriend during his five-year marriage, the source said.
The phone records reflect only a portion of the calls between at least four phones known to be used by Frey and Peterson.
The 30-year-old fertilizer salesman has pleaded innocent to murder charges. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.
Frey, 28, has said she met and started dating Peterson in November, not knowing he was married.
The phone records from Dec. 14 to Jan. 14 also reveal that:
Frey, a Fresno massage therapist, called Modesto police at 1:43 a.m. Dec. 30. The call lasted 22 minutes. On Jan. 28, when Frey went public about her romantic involvement with Peterson, she cited the pivotal Dec. 30 call.
She made the call immediately after receiving two calls, starting at 1:24 a.m.
In the next three weeks, Frey exchanged at least 48 calls with Modesto police Detective John Buehler. She also called the phones of police Detectives Phil Owen and Al Brocchini twice each.
Frey's attorney said she has cooperated with investigators, who tapped at least two of Peterson's cell phones.
Authorities had an affidavit sealed Jan. 22 for a "search warrant for Scott Peterson's phone records," a Stanislaus County Superior Court order shows. It is unclear whether investigators executed the search warrant for the phone records.
But court documents show that authorities did use a search warrant May 28 in connection with the case for toll and subscriber information from five telecommunications companies: AT&T Wireless, Nextel, Cingular, Sprint and SBC. The companies provided investigators with dozens of pages of information, according to court documents.
Most of Frey's calls to Scott Peterson lasted five minutes or less. Only one, on Jan. 7, was longer; it lasted 100 minutes.
Frey and Peterson called each other an average of two times daily in the week before Laci Peterson was reported missing Christmas Eve. There were at least four calls on Christmas as media descended on Modesto to cover the disappearance. On Dec. 26, while volunteers combed the Petersons' La Loma neighborhood and a park, the number of calls shot up to 14. All calls were made between 3 and 9 p.m.
Frey put in two calls, on Jan. 10 and 14, to a volunteer search center based at Modesto's Red Lion Hotel. It is not known whether she spoke to volunteers or Scott Peterson, who regularly visited the center.
Peterson apparently spoke to Frey on the phone only once on Dec. 23, the day his wife vis- ited her doctor. Laci Peterson accompanied her husband that day to have his hair cut by her sister. Authorities have said they believe Laci Peterson was killed later that day or the next day.
On the day a judge agreed to let police tap Peterson's calls, Frey spoke with him at least twice. She called Buehler's phone number eight times that day. Frey hasn't spoken to the media, aside from the initial news conference revealing the affair and another staged by Gloria Allred, her Los Angeles attorney.
Allred declined Wednesday to comment on specifics surrounding her client's phone conversations with Peterson.

MODESTO -- A broker of photos for men's magazines has posted nude photos of Amber Frey on his Web site, and the Fresno massage therapist has talked with her attorney about suing him.
The broker, David Hans Schmidt, said he bought the photos and release rights from a Fresno photographer earlier this year. The Web site, where Schmidt charges $19.95 for access, came to light Wednesday.
Attorney Gloria Allred, who is representing Frey as she prepares to be a witness in the Scott Peterson double-murder case, said her client has never relinquished rights to the photos.
Allred said her job is to defend Frey from attacks on her credibility that may come from Peterson's defense team and elsewhere.
Allred called the Web site "disgusting and an attempt to exploit Amber simply because she may be an important witness in a high-profile murder case."
"We have advised Amber of all of her legal rights against Mr. Schmidt and anyone who is involved in the sale and distribution of her images, and she will seriously consider her legal options," Allred said in a written statement released Wednesday.
When reached by phone, Allred declined to say what options were discussed or whether Frey would sue Schmidt.
"I hope she sues," Schmidt said Wednesday while traveling in New York. "You can print that. I hope she sues me."..........

The other woman in the Laci Peterson murder investigation was fully exposed yesterday - after a Web site started charging $19.95 for more than two dozen racy pictures of her.
Web site operator David Hans Schmidt posted 27 pictures of Amber Frey, 28, a massage therapist who had a fling with murder suspect Scott Peterson.
The photos were taken in 1999, Schmidt said.
"She responded to a local ad for nude models," said the Internet entrepreneur.
Frey is involved in the mystery surrounding Laci Peterson, a pregnant Modesto, Calif., woman who vanished last Christmas Eve.
Her body and the remains of her unborn child washed ashore near San Francisco in April, leading to Scott Peterson's arrest........

Peterson Informer Convinces Ex-Cop

The inmate who claims he overheard double murder suspect Scott Peterson (search) talking about kidnapping his wife Laci convinced the ex-cop who gave him a polygraph test that he is telling the truth, the officer told Fox News in an exclusive interview.
Lt. Melvin King (search) told Fox News' Geraldo Rivera Wednesday that he was skeptical of inmate Cory Lee Carroll's (search) story at first, but changed his mind after their two-hour session.
"Mr. Carroll was able to convince me that he truly believes what he's saying has some validity to it," King said.
King, who has dealt with numerous inmate witnesses in the past, said they typically ask to cut some sort of deal for a plea bargain. But Carroll was different, he said.
"He was just the opposite," King told Fox.
Peterson, 30, is accused of killing his wife Laci Peterson, 27, and unborn son, Conner.
Carroll, a self-described petty property criminal, told investigators he first met Peterson last November at the City Lights strip club in Fresno, Calif...........

The way I see it is if it's good enough for the Defense to put a career criminal on the Stand to testify, then it is just as okay to have someone testify for the Proseution that was paid something. Well, looks like I'm gonna hit the sack also. Good Night friends. Tomorrow is another day closer!!

Here is a one paragraph excerpt from todays Oct.3rd,Modesto Bee article.
LINK
http://www.modbee.com/local/story/7537066p-8449316c.html I have only posted a small portion of the article. This is under paragraph heading:
CON DESCIBES FIRST MEETING
In his interview with King, Carroll said he met Scott Peterson in late November at City Lights, a Fresno strip club. Peterson asked whether Carroll knew anyone who could steal his wife's car for an insurance payoff, Carroll said.
Carroll said Peterson agreed to pay him $300 to set up a meeting with two men known to Carroll as Tony, who goes by "Dirty," and Anthony, also known as "Skeeter." Carroll said they are members of the Nazi Low Riders, a violent neo-Nazi gang.
The two drove a "beige van with orange and brown stripes on the side and a place in the back near the bumper for a generator to sit," Carroll said in King's report.
Several residents have said they saw a tan or brown van in the Peterson's La Loma neighborhood on the morning of Dec. 24, but none of the accounts include stripes or a generator rack.
Diane Jackson, a Peterson neighbor whom police had hypnotized, told authorities she saw three men standing near a tan van parked in front of 516 Covena Ave., directly across the street from the Peterson home, at 11:40 a.m. Dec. 24.
Jackson said the men were short with dark complexions and appeared Asian or Hispanic, according to a report of her account.
Dirty and Skeeter are described as white and 5-foot-10 and 5-foot-8. Carroll also is white.
Investigators have not contacted Jackson since Carroll's information came to light to see if she recognized him or others as the men near the van, a source close to the investigation said.
In the report, Jackson told police one rear van door was open, the other ajar. There was no mention of a generator rack or other items attached to or near the rear bumper.
Strip club account unconfirmed
As part of his story, Carroll said that he met Peterson at a club, and that a stripper there named Tammy posed with customers for Polaroid photos, for a fee. Tammy reportedly took a picture with him and Peterson, but kept it rather than turning it over to the customers.
The club, however, has a strict policy against customers or employees using a camera inside, several staff members said. The employees declined to give their names, saying they could be fired for talking to the press.
But high-profile guest dancers would occasionally take photos with customers, an employee said. The employee could not remember any stripper, including a guest dancer, named Tammy in the last year. None of the other employees said they remembered a dancer named Tammy.
Police investigators have been seeking information at the club with a photo of a woman they've identified as Tammy, an employee said.
After their initial meeting, Carroll said, he met with Peterson and the gang members at about 12:30 p.m. Nov. 29 at Chili's Grill & Bar in Fresno, and the four continued talking at Carroll's room at the Best Budget Motel.
There, Carroll allegedly overheard the discussion about kidnapping and murder and left because he did not want to get involved.
He returned 45 minutes later and said he heard the two gang members say they were going to take care of something, Carroll said.

(A blank tag is a terrible thing to waste)
To: All
I have decided to add two more paragraphs to my post #424,although I have provided the link to the Modesto Bee,I think these two additional paragraphs worthy of being posted.
Elements added to story:
Muna's information has come in distinct batches. He first said his client arranged a meeting between Peterson and two neo-Nazi gang members to discuss stealing Laci Peterson's vehicle for insurance money, but the talk soon turned to kidnapping.
The next week, Muna added to that account, saying Carroll heard Scott Peterson arranging to pay the gang members, identified as "Dirty" and "Skeeter," $22,000 to abduct and murder his pregnant wife. To this date, "Dirty" and "Skeeter" have not been publicly identified.
Muna suggested Scott Peterson failed to pay the money after he came under intense police scrutiny and Laci Peterson died while being held. The disgruntled kidnappers could have dumped the bodies where Peterson said he went fishing to implicate him, Muna said.
Credibility was lent to the original car theft story because Carroll passed a lie-detector test administered by a veteran Fresno investigator.
But polygraph tests are not admissible in court because they are unreliable, and other parts of the story remain uncorroborated.
The identities and whereabouts of people named as key players in the scenarios remain elusive.
Authorities are refusing to comment on Muna's information, citing a sweeping gag order imposed in the case.
Bounty offer disputed
"I am authorized to reveal," Muna said, "that Scott Peterson offered Skeeter and Dirty $3,000 apiece to kidnap Laci and $8,000 apiece to get rid of her -- to kill her."
Melvin King, a former Fresno police lieutenant who administered the polygraph, said he did not hear Carroll describe dollar amounts for a kidnapping or mention a contract killing.
"I specifically do not remember that, and my position is it never happened," King said. "I took some pretty thorough notes. I certainly didn't hear anything like that."
King's report shows Carroll passed the polygraph when he was asked about kidnapping. But Carroll was not questioned about a contract killing, and no dollar figures were mentioned for either crime, according to the report.
Muna said King was unaware of the payment offer and his questioning had not probed the extent of what Carroll reportedly heard during the November meeting at a low-rent Fresno motel.
Muna said he didn't immediately reveal the payment details "because we wanted the prosecution to have an opportunity to conduct their own investigation" of Carroll's story.
"We were caught off-guard because the story broke before we thought," Muna said. "But we knew upfront."
Muna said he delivered a copy of King's report to Stanislaus County prosecutors, who have charged Peterson with two counts of murder in the death of his wife and unborn son, Conner.
Laci Peterson was reported missing Christmas Eve. Her body and that of her son were found in April about a mile apart along the shore of San Francisco Bay, within four miles of where Scott Peterson said he went fishing Dec. 24.
Chief Deputy District Attorney John Goold said the gag order prevented him from confirming whether his office received King's report.
"As new things come to light, some are investigated and some are not," Goold said. "Some have to be looked at one way or the other to determine if they are true or if they're not. Some things don't pan out."

"Eyewitnesses are the "least" reliable type of evidence. More people have been WRONGLY convicted by eyewitnesses than anything else."
I do suppose you are talking about evidence in a court of law in the united states of America.
IN the event you are, credible "eyewitness" testimony properly cross-examined is second only in importance to a properly recieved "confession", if a judge is giving the decision. If he is not deciding he will instruct the jury to consider it that way. If the eye-witness testimony is credible to the judge and the jury ignores it, he will simply give a directed verdict and set the jury verdict aside.
One lawyer talking to another as they enter court for trial:
All eyewitness testimony is tainted except for your witness and my witness. And this morning I have started to doubt YOURS.....;-0)
As far as *Wrongful Convictions* and who is responsible it's not even close,IMO there is a prosecutorial misconduct scandal in this country,I had not seen stats. or studies. but I found this study done by the Chicago Tribune. The study covered thirty years, 1963-1999.(actual cases)IMHO it is a scandal.Enlightening ,but damn, this is too much truth at one time.
http://sun.soci.niu.edu/~critcrim/wrong/tribpros10.html http://sun.soci.niu.edu/~critcrim/wrong/tribpros11.html http://sun.soci.niu.edu/~critcrim/wrong/tribpros13.html http://sun.soci.niu.edu/~critcrim/wrong/tribpros12.html The verdict: Dishonor
By Ken Armstrong and Maurice Possley
Source: The Chicago Tribune, 10 January, 1999
With impunity, prosecutors across the country have violated their oaths and the law, committing the worst kinds of deception in the most serious of cases.
They have prosecuted a wife, hiding evidence her husband committed suicide. They have prosecuted parents, hiding evidence their daughter was killed by wild dogs.
They do it to win.
They do it because they won't get punished.
They have done it to defendants who came within hours of being executed, only to be exonerated.
In the first study of its kind, a Chicago Tribune analysis of thousands of court records, appellate rulings and lawyer disciplinary records from across the United States has found:
- Since a 1963 U.S. Supreme Court ruling designed to curb misconduct by prosecutors, at least 381 defendants nationally have had a homicide conviction thrown out because prosecutors concealed evidence suggesting innocence or presented evidence they knew to be false. Of all the ways that prosecutors can cheat, those two are considered the worst by the courts. And that number represents only a fraction of how often such cheating occurs.
- The U.S. Supreme Court has declared such misconduct by prosecutors to be so reprehensible that it warrants criminal charges and disbarment. But not one of those prosecutors was convicted of a crime. Not one was barred from practicing law. Instead, many saw their careers advance, becoming judges or district attorneys. One became a congressman.
- Of the 381 defendants, 67 had been sentenced to death. They include Verneal Jimerson of Illinois and Kirk Bloodsworth of Maryland, both later exonerated by DNA tests; Randall Dale Adams of Texas, whose wrongful conviction was revealed by the documentary "The Thin Blue Line;" and Sonia Jacobs of Florida, who was eventually freed but whose boyfriend, convicted on virtually identical evidence, had already been executed by the time her appeal prevailed.
Although the Tribune found 381 defendants whose homicide convictions were overturned based upon such misconduct, that number accounts for only a fraction of how often prosecutors commit such deception -- which is by design hidden and can take extraordinary efforts to uncover. No one knows how often prosecutors engage in such duplicity but aren't caught. And even when prosecutors are caught, findings of misconduct aren't filed in an easily accessible directory.

Chief Deputy District Attorney John Goold said the gag order prevented him from confirming whether his office received King's report. "As new things come to light, some are investigated and some are not," Goold said. "Some have to be looked at one way or the other to determine if they are true or if they're not. Some things don't pan out."That is a most telling, disturbing comment from a "defender of truth and justice". Believe it makes the point that there is a mindset to prove that a charged person is guilty regardless of whatever evidence might come to light.
To: STOCKHRSE
I watched a very comprehensive documentary on A&E produced by Bill Kurtis on Eyewitness Testimony. I can't name you the day and hour but it was this year. I watch everything I can to do with TRUE crime stories because they greatly interest me. Cold Case Files is one of my absolute favorites. Anyway, they cited many cases as I said, most of them were men that were freed since the advent of DNA testing. These men, had all served quite long sentences already and most of them for the crime of rape. Some for rape and murder. STOCKHRSE, I am not in a competition with you on knowledge and will not play this game.!! If you disagree with me on certain things, that's fine just say so. I'm a big girl and I don't expect everybody to agree with all my opinions. I disagree with you also on some of your sweeping statements to do with the Prosecution. None of us agree all the time but there is NO NEED WHATSOEVER for your COMBATIVE LANGUAGE LACED WITH SARCASM all the time.!! It serves no purpose but to put a black cloud over the whole thread. As to a Prosecutorial Scandal in the US, I have no knowledge of that. I'm not saying it doesn't occur but other than the cases I referred to above where quite a few men were WRONGfully convicted by eyewitness testimony and where the Prosecutors had presented nothing besides the eyewitnesses , I am not aware of any others. I think Prosecutors are held to a much higher standard than most Defense Attorney's all the time. Defense Attorney's in my view, get away with a lot of legal mischief. They KNOWINGLY throw out nonsensical theories and KNOWLINGLY get murderers set free. THAT, IN MY OPINION!! is criminal. To offer a vigorous defense? - that's the Defense Attorney's job. To make up Defenses and manipulate every single thing Law Enforcement does is just wrong. If you want to disagree with me in a friendly way I'm game for that. If Not, then I will not reply again.

What about Kristen Dempewolf? So she wasn't the only one hypnotized??
Frankly, it sounds like the men Ms. Jackson may have seen might be those Mexican yard workers we keep hearing about. Or maybe they were.... (shudder!)... handymen. Or one of the men could have been Frank Muna, b/c he looks kind of tan to me........?
