"A Schwarzenegger loss is better. Bustamante winning would be an unfortunate side effect. "

In other words you would prefer Bustamante to win.

Yes. Definitely.

I can't believe that is my opinion, but anyone would be better than Schwarzenegger except Davis remaining.

I'm not the only one who feels this way obviously (although I doubt others would say it in as straightforward a manner as I just have). My opinion, also, has nothing to do with McClintock.

Bustamante is a marginal figure in the dem party. His running for recall is as angering to them as much as McClintock's run is angering some Republicans. The dems are simply more disciplined. But the anger and lack of support for Bustamante comes is evident in his poll numbers.

Maria Shriver and Schwarzengger's Hollywood friends and advisors have more clout and association with the establishment CA dems than Bustamante.

In no way does this mean I like Bustamante. But I dislike the Hollywood liberal/leftist establishment much more. They also are competent and efficient, whereas Bustamante is a muddling panderer.

Davis being recalled is a serious blow to the dems. A Bustamante win would soften it a bit, butwould cause a lot of internal divisions in the party. The elitists who run it will not like rubes like Bustamante having any authority.
