We are the children of the world.
We don't want war anymore . .
And we pray to Jesus that evil Muslim terrorists will quit starting them.

Note to Mary K:

After reading 40-odd posts whacking this woman, allow me to play devil's advocate here and at least give her credit for adhering to her principles and leaving rather than letting her beliefs be compromised. Would that more liberals did that. And, the real biggie, she didn't sue anybody!

...give her credit for adhering to her principles and leaving rather than letting her beliefs be compromised. Would that more liberals did that.Now there's an idea. Could we get America's liberals to resign all their positions of power in politics, the media, the judiciary and the academy? Talk about overnight change.

We are children of peace. We are the children of the world. We are children of dreams. And we are the children of the world. We are children of love. We are the children of the world. We don't want war anymore -- we are the children of the world. If that's the quality of song she writes, she should have been fired for cause anyway.

""I feel I was being censored," Mary told me yesterday."
You are, idiot! It is not within your position, or your teaching requirements, as an arts instructor, to teach personal theory on civics or government. Do your job, and you are fine. Don't do it, and be lucky you didn't get "canned." They still fire incompetent teachers, I believe. Keep your principles out of the classtoom. If I want my kids taught morals and ethics, I'll do it. You teach them learning skills.

Can kids opt out of singing her socialist worksongs? After all, the ACLU has fought the Pledge of Allegiance. Maybe we could get the kids to recite the loyalty oath that all foreign born citizens pledge when they become naturalized citizens.
The Oath of Allegiance: I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty, of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen;
that I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic;
that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same;
that I will bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by the law;
that I will perform noncombatant service in the Armed Forces of the United States when required by the law;
that I will perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law;
and that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion;
so help me God.
I would not have them recite such a pledge in class as a legally binding commitment but they should be made aware of what "citizen" means in America. And no, we are not "children of the world".

The kids have no music at all. Just silence. How sad. I think I'll just go cut my throat in protest, because this is so, so, sad, I don't think I can live with myself. The children will suffer forever because Mary the artist was silenced. Oh, cruel, cruel, beastly world! No more music for the children. Oh, the agony!
NOT!!!

Sounds like she didn't need to lose her job for her political stand, but rather because those are the crappiest lyrics I've read in a long time.

Thanks, been under a rock for a while. I lurk a bit, but this DNC list thing got me to post some replies. How's the coffee shop? Did you get involved in the firestorm about the tax?

But being pro war isn't warm and fuzzy. Warm and fuzzy is "good", realistic is bad. Just ask anyone but radio shack.

And when they come and kill our people-we will sing Baaaaa How right you are. It's a good thing the people on United flight #93 didn't sit there and sing, no, what did they say?
LET'S ROLL!!!
To: beelzepug
Sure, she has principles, as most ideologues do. but her "principles" involve indoctrinating young minds with a juvenile and pollyannish philosophy that if applied in the adult world would do harm.
I find her acts no less objectionable than an enviro-whacko
peaching "love the trees - hate the SUVs" or whatever.
To young impressionable kids, this is brainwashing the sheeple.
The Jesuits were right - you have to catch them when they're young. The Left knows this as well. Glad to hear she on to a new gig.
