Unfortunately some need to reduce anyone with whom they disagree to the level of pond scum.
Its the only way to quiet their own little doubts & insecurities.

I doubt many of those who would prefer to vote for Tom, but will vote for a win for a Republican governor, want to cut off their nose to spite their face. The squabbles we have here on FR are with the Kool Aid drinkers who do. They are a distinct minority, but they are fun to play with.

Because the fear that torments the Arnold supporters will not subside. We need at least some of them, but cannot pry their white knuckled hands from Arnolds biceps.
You think Tom still has a chance? Votes form what source, undecided, Arnold?
The debate is scripted and Arnold will not be asked anything difficult - I hope I am wrong and momentum swings.

We might also consider who was in this race first, and which of the two candidates has served the CA GOP for 20 years.A Star Is Born
A most interesting article. Clearly Schwarzenegger was drafted by some big names in the GOP to run.

Tom supporters are no more Kool Aid drinkers that those who originally supported the recall, or those who fought the Tax increase in Oregon - and won.
Fighting for what one believes does not make one brainwashed.

The list continues to grow, the caucophoney echoes:
NEWSMAX.COM -
McClintock can't win REALCLEARPOLITICS.COM -
McClintock can't win CALNEWS.COM -
McClintock can't win CALIFORNIA INSIDER - Arnold may be better off if (McClintock) stays in for awhile (imho) Hugh Hewitt (KRLA) -
McClintock can't win Al Rantel (KABC) -
McClintock can't win Frank Pastore (KRLA) -
McClintock can't win Brian Whitman (KABC) -
McClintock can't win Laura Ingraham -
McClintock can't win John and Ken Show (KFI) -
McClintock can't win Bill Handel (KFI) -
McClintock can't win Mr. KABC -
McClintock can't win Larry Elder -
McClintock can't win CALIFORNIA REPUBLICAN PARTY -
McClintock can't win Sean Hannity -
McClintock can't win JIM BRUELTE CA. REP. ASSEMBLY -
McClintock can't win - ENDORSES ARNOLD ROGER HEDGECOCK -
McClintock can't win DARYLL ISSA (and Tom's Friend) -
McClintock can't win
I mean, at what point will you TOMBOTS realize that losing with your purist principles will SUCK?
What's going to be more tragic? That the Recall succeeds and BustaMECHA wins? That the recall fails and Arnold wins because Republicans chose to vote against the recall rather than let BustaMECHA get in? That your boy TOM will NEVER BE ELECTED TO A SERIOUS STATEWIDE OFFICE IF HE DOESN'T TAKE IT FOR THE TEAM?

We all ready know that we can win this for Arnold and we know we will not be appreciatedMight I say that I admire the thought you've put into the decision you've made and I respect you very much for it.

Fighting for what one believes does not make one brainwashed. You're right, but fighting against what one believes in is usually a sign of being brainwashed. Arnold will bring better days to California.

Issa on MSNBC with Lester Holt now. Holt played a clip of Schwarzenegger that Issa praised. He will hold off on any endorsements until after the debate tonight.
He will endorse Schwarzenegger, he basically says, unless he sees something happen that will move "Tom's" way.

if you've supported Tom with the pocketbook, no flames, just a request - keep the ballot in your hand or your mind open for the debate and the dirty Demo dump in the last week. It may sink Muscles and the Car Tax issue I think is Tom's real cross over strength... you may believe the last minute polls and decide against the best man/plan, but
having gotten this far, sit on the fence until at least the Sunday before! Lots of stuff still to come! The good news is the insiders aren't really in charge of the recall, and never wanted it in the first place...

Issa stressing he is not backing the "Vote No" on recall statement. He said it for effect and he says the context makes that clear.
He stresses that both Republican candidates know to win the best chance is to have one candidate.
He ends by saying his endorsement will come "soon" (tomorrow, if not tonight, is my guess).

I have my doubts.
Though I agree that the days ahead will be better with Arnold than with Cruz.

I am 100% behind holding the ballot to the end.
Surprises and swings can happen very quickly.

Now, Please don't interpret my post as endorsing the idea. I don't know enough about the issue. What I am pointing out is that Schwarzenegger is a huge Bush supporter and is carrying his message out. As even Dan Rather had to grudgingly admit on 60 Minutes II, Bush's request for billions for research is not just pork. The upside on America being the leader in hydrogen fuel would be monumental, since it will -- if it works as well as suggested -- revolutionize energy in several different applications, not only in vehicle engines, and would force the world to come to the USA for new-tech, the way it used to be.
However, what I said remains true: Arnold's idea of hydro-stations in Collyphoneeyah was in answer to criticism of his Hummers and his claim to have created the market for the urban tanks.

McClintock should stay in. This race should not be between a liberal Democrat and a liberal Republican. If Schwarzenegger bowed out, then McClintock would possibly win. Why doesn't Schwarzenegger quit?
To: NittanyLion
"FO is interested in little more than electing Arnold as an end unto itself."

Me and most prominent Republicans, including very conservative Republicans in California. I am in good company.
I guess for you it's a sin to want to Republican governor instead of a MEChA and Aztlan supporting Democrat.
