I can't even imagine how bad it must have been down in Cali...

It's worse than bad. My husband and I have a business in our community and have had to explain to countless people, who have seen us on the news and know we rally at the corner of Blackstone and Shaw, what FreeRepublic is about, that we are NOT affiliated with a hate group. We have been put on the defensive in having to restore our good name to our customers and others in our community. The repercussions of this labeling by the HRC is much worse than we had anticipated.

I'm really sorry to hear that. I am. I tried to get a few people up here interested in at least checking out FR (coworkers) and that's when I got an earful, and had to do the same - what we are, and what we are not.

And I'm not even in Fresno - so I know it wasn't anywhere near as bad as it was down there. I'm sorry to hear about what you had to deal with - but hopefully you were able to convincve them of the truth...
