Hold their opinions against them? What moral relitivism that is! Is paying for college a requirement for good parenting? I consider financial help at that level to be a priviledge. Would I be a cooler parent if I let them go where ever they want, for whatever reason they want, to do whatever they want? I don't want to be friends with my kids, I want to be their parent. What is unconsicenceable is giving equal weight to the opinion of someone a) not paying the bill b) has far less life experience and c) is understandibly more interested in how cute the football team is than whether or not they can grow morally and spiritually,even if by accident, at college.
