Reminds me of something I went through a number of years back that some might find humorous.

At the time I was running a company that because of a big judgement against it had to seek protection so we could reorganize under chapter 11. After filing we had a Fed. (local) bankruptcy judge asigned to the case who was fairly well known in local law circles as a big Lesbian.

When I became aware of the judge's leanings, I quickly switched attorneys to a really butch looking attorney and surrounded myself during each hearing process with butch looking administrative people from accounting. Really.

From the beginning it was a dicey filing and we were not sure we could get our management plan approved...as it involved cramming down one set of judgement/debt holders and some novel approaches to management retaining a claim on equity without coming up with new money.

Not only did we get everything we wanted, but, following the successful reorganization, the judge even hired my attorney to serve as the U.S. Bankruptcy attorney in her court.

What this story might serve to undersore is open to opinion. But in my opinion it shows how vulnerable socially warped judges like this are to manipulation by matters totally undrelated to a case.

Which is exactly why I was opposed to Judge Moore and his rock -- it leaves the impression that a litigants' religious beliefs and practices, if made known to the judge, may have an influence upon the outcome of a case.
