I actually know Jim Marshall personally, and he is one of the most amazing politicians I have ever met. Dropped out of Princeton to enlist in the army in Viet Nam. Well decorated Ranger, absolutely honest stand-up guy. (Except for a little bit too close to the trial lawyers, but nobody's perfect.) I'm glad he wrote this, and I'm actually going to write him a check.

Thanks for the info on Marshall. There MUST be some good, decent democrats out there. The trouble is, there are so few. I'm interested in knowing about the good people who are serving our nation (instead of themselves), whether they are Rep. or Dem. They deserve our support.
I hope this Dem. congressman doesn't get slapped down hard by the powers that be in his party. The truth can set you free, but it can also be dangerous to wander too far from the 'Rat reservation.

Thanks for the background--this article is my first exposure to him. Glad he seems like a decent person, cause only a decent person would write this forthrightly.
