" In the real world, people look for revenge."

In the real world, people rally around their heroes. You missed my whole point (not surprisingly) because it used your own motif against you! I said that the grass roots would end the careers of Parsky and the rest of the elites who run the party if McC loses. They'd vote them out. That's revenge right there. You also missed the point of a previous poster -- McC would clean up on the talk-show / book-writing circuit.

Again, the people that supported McC here will continue to do so even if he loses the election. In fact, he'll have won admirers across the country because of his stand. A stand for principles wins you admirers and supporters from near and far. That's something you should factor into your analysis of the 'real world'. :)

Like I posted before, I'm really starting to believe that most FReepers live in a dream world. Have you ever done any public speaking or organized a road show? Have you ever written a (non-self) published book? Do you think you just set these things up and the money starts to flow?

Take it from someone who has done both and knows how hard the game is. One has to give Arianna some credit with what she's pulled off, but then she's a pro.

McC is a duffer who has spent his entire working life in public office. Mark my words, this episode and the resulting recriminations will ultimately make your favorite martyr a sad footnote.
