CALIFORNIA INDIAN NATIONS SUMMIT A SUCCESS

By Debra Utacia Krol (Pechanga.net)

ONTARIO, CALIF. - In a testament to the increasing clout of California's Native Americans, state Republicans held their first summit with Indian leaders to hear concerns on topics ranging from land trusts to gaming.

Representatives of more than 60 tribes met with the 12 legislators at the all-day summit on August 17 sponsored by the California Republican Legislative Caucus.
