You should know something about him, because I wrote him up in my book "The Entrepreneurial Adventure." He worked for a company, as I recall, Pillsbury, in accounting where he was a high-level veep. He went to the pres. of the company and said, "I want to get your job. How do I do that?" The pres said, "I'll be honest. We never would promote someone from accounting to this position. You would need to be in the food production/mgt./processing divisions. You would have to start almost at the bottom." Cain said, "I'll do it." He gave up his company car and perks and began as a BURGER KING manager!!! Within six months, he was promoted to the regional Burger King director, then soon, promoted again, and was on his way to the pres. spot when "Godfather's Pizza" came on the market. He and some investors had the money to buy it, and he managed it, into a solid profit.
