I was just going to ask about you!

Sounds like you had it worse than most of us here in NC!

The fondue pot came in very handy for boiling water,

LOL!!!!

I grabbed my fondue pot from our storage unit on Tuesday, just in case. I hadn't thought about using it for boiling water, I was thinking dinner!!!

fortunately I didn't need it!!!

Luckily I don't live in Leberal Land - my little library actually has 5 or 6 copies of both Treason and Slander - all of them have waiting lists!!!

I thought about asking hubby for a copy of it for my b'day - but decided against that after UPS delivered my present on Friday - a new digital camera!!!! YEE HAAA

I had never taken it out of the box before - it was a Christmas gift a few years ago. I bought one of those little folding sterno stoves a while back, but we buried it when moving everything into the garage for Isabel - all I could reach was the sterno itself. The fondue pot was in the appliance graveyard, with the bread machine and crepe pan, right by the door. Steve cooked eggs & toast on the barbecue grill.

While I remember, where on the ES are you? I used to live in Mears.

The trailer's probably still there, though I'll bet it's fallen off the blocks by now. I wonder if the daffodils I planted still bloom, ten years later.

Ooooo! what kind of camera? Ours is 800 years old. You know like on the Flintstones with the little bird inside that makes pixels with his beak.

It's nothing real fancy - but a 100% better than the one that bit the dust on me in the spring.

It does neat things like vidoe clips and will work as a webcam.

I haven't really had a chance to play with it yet - in fact I haven't even loaded the software to check that out.

After the little one goes to school tomorrow and I get this place cleaned up - then I will play with it!!!

Sweet! I want one.
Actually, I was joking with Corin Stormhands, when he said that Isabel was due on his back deck, that he could be the official FReeptographer. He said. "Will you buy me a digital camera?"
I said, "If you survive." Real smart, right?
I wish he would show up. Thank God he called in but he has not posted since the 18th.

much damage?

No. A tree fell over in back, but it landed in the alley. The neighbor lost a section out of his fence when it did that, but that was the damage.

At least Corin made some contact......that's a start.

The camera is a Concord Duo2000. Hubby got it from Tiger Direct for about $70 or $80.

80.00! If you could look through the computer screen right now, you would see that I am Green (with envy).
My hubby has just started transfering our 8mm home movie tapes to VCD (we don't have a DVD burner yet). It would be so much easier to just go digital.
He even captured a still from one tape where we had a pile of leaves in the backyard and he picked up my youngest and tossed her into the pile. It was such a cool still. She was grinning as she flew! I've heard you can screen capture on the digital video as well, right?
