Illegal Immigration. Tom would attempt to revive Prop 187 challenges, which may or may not succeed. Arnold, unfortunately, would not. On the bright side, though, Arnold does plan to hit the federal government up for reimbursement for the costs of illegal immigration, which are disproportionally borne by this state, which houses roughly one-third of all illegals. By making illegal immigration everyone's problem rather than just a problem peculiar to the border states, Arnold may be able to press the federal government to actually do something about illegal immigration. If he can't, we can always try another 187-based initiative, which will again pass handily (and which either Tom or Arnold could be trusted to defend in court).

What Arnold Scharzenegger actually wants the federal government to do is redesignate the Illegals as "guest workers," at which point he'll work to give them drivers' licenses.

Go ahead and vote those absentees and be sure to vote
them for a Republican and conservative with a plan
not a script, Tom McClintock!

The Steroidnators linguini spined Rino supports will
eventually get over the loss of a gay agenda loving
gangbanger with his Kennedy braintrust... he doesn't
really want to live in Sacramento anyway, but loves
doing the Oprah and Larry shows and spouting goofy
movie lines...

hey 68, get off your belly and out of the mud and
vote for a conservative (hint... that ain't Arnie!)

geeeeesh, are you nuts? God's will be done by having
the abortion champion put in office by Repubs? You've
got your head in the sand and nothing Tom has done has
been anything but a positive reflection on him and his
campaign... nothing wrong with highlighting differences
and being thin skinned cause your actor doesn't measure
up is not a smart response. Tom will stay in the race
to the end (cause he keeps his promises) and if you
want to waste a vote on a Kennedy Democrat instead of
a conservative, ... it's still a free country ;^)

Arnold refers to the illegals as "undocumented immigrants." Check out the language for yourself on his website. For those not in California, this is codespeak for "amnesty."

No thank you.

You're definitely right. The debate between McClintock and Arnold supporters become "McClintock can win, no he can't...." At the California Republican Party convention this weekend I faced fervent Arnold supporters. I believe McClintock can win and proudly displayed the McCLintock sticker on my lapel. You wouldn't believe the looks and sneering comments I would get. "Why are you supporting a loser, you have the wrong sticker..." I would like to support a candidate who can win but Arnold just says very little about his plan for the Sacramento legislature. McClintock has explicitly said since the beginning of his gubernatorial campaign what he plans to do the first of his gubernatorial term.

If Arnold is so confident that he will "clean house" in sacramento well tell the public. He has not appeared in the first 2 debates. He did not take viewers calls on Larry King Live.

Thank you for advice, but I reject it. I am not on my belly in the mud, I am standing and firing. I'm at the point, dude. Arnold's gonna win, too! What you gonna do?

God's Will is always done, christy. It is a free country and Arnold is going to win in a free election, and no amount of your temper tantrums will affect that.

A great analysis of the practical reasons for voting for Arnold. Unfortunately, from a moral perspective, I could not, if I were a CA voter. The immorality of supporting abortion in any form overrides any practical, political reasons for Arnold.

How can I explain this to people to whom practicality is more important than morality? Let's pretend we're Germans voting under Hitler's rule in 1941. Let's say we oppose the "final solution"--the extermination of the Jews. Let's say there are three candidates for the ruler of Bavaria. Candidate A opposes the final solution. Candidate B supports extermination only of the elderly--those over 60. And Candidate C supports the final solution. Candidates B and C are neck and neck in the race and Candidate A is third. For whom would you vote? I would vote for A, even if he didn't get in--at least I would be morally clear of support the extermination of the Jews. This is how I feel about McClintock and Schwarzeneggar.

Some things are just wrong. It is always wrong to support them. Period.

>> Yes on Recall, Yes on Schwarzenegger <<

"YES on roach removal and YES on 'replacing' them with earwigs"

"YES on Alcaholics Anoymous and YES on throwing a kegger party after you graduate"

"YES on selling your crappy broken-down Yugo and YES on buying a Grade-Z, fourth-hand 1972 Beetle to 'replace' it"

"YES on canceling your stay in Iceland and YES on opting for a trip to Sieberia instead"

"YES on not aborting your baby and YES on throwing it in a bag and leaving it in the trash after it's born"

Just being "pragmatic" here!
