OAKLEY, Calif. (AP) - A Freedom High School freshman has run up against opposition in her quest to start a Caucasian Club.

A local NAACP leader says Lisa McClelland's proposed club, which would be open to all races and ethnicities, smacks of racial division, a charge the 15-year-old denies. McClelland says she and some of her friends simply feel a bit slighted since other school clubs cater to specific cultures and races, such as the Black Student Union and the Asian Club.

Let me get this straight -- a race-oriented organization is calling a proposed race-oriented club "divisive" and fighting its formation? These double standards never cease to amaze me.

This is pure racism on the part of the NAACP. What is good for one should be good for all. Period.

It will be curious to see what happens in 20 years when "whites" are a minority in the US. I'm looking forward to collecting my affirmative action benefits then.

The NAACP telling someone that they can't have a club for caucasions is like the Klan telling someone they can't have a club for blacks.

By the way, where are the feminists, shouldn't they be standing up for this girls rights? After all, haven't they endorsed Carol Mosley Braun for presidnet simply bacuse she is a woman, however unqualified to lead she may be.

This is what bothers me about the Republican party. As Mike Savage said the other night is that the republicans need to come out of their country clubs, roll up their sleeves, and start fighting the left in this culture war that we're losing.
