"Aren't these the same folks who continue to insist Californians MUST continue to identify themselves by race, color, gender, and sexual preference?"LOL -- how 'bout that?? And yet amazingly, there isn't ONE politician willing to point this blatant hypocracy out, is there?

Some college republican club actually had one of those I thought it was Freepers.

A local NAACP leader says Lisa McClelland's proposed club, which would be open to all races and ethnicities, smacks of racial division, a charge the 15-year-old denies. Let me get this straight -- a race-oriented organization is calling a proposed race-oriented club "divisive" and fighting its formation? These double standards never cease to amaze me.
This is pure racism on the part of the NAACP. What is good for one should be good for all. Period.
It will be curious to see what happens in 20 years when "whites" are a minority in the US. I'm looking forward to collecting my affirmative action benefits then.

Lisa McClelland isn't white?

The NAACP telling someone that they can't have a club for caucasions is like the Klan telling someone they can't have a club for blacks.
By the way, where are the feminists, shouldn't they be standing up for this girls rights? After all, haven't they endorsed Carol Mosley Braun for presidnet simply bacuse she is a woman, however unqualified to lead she may be.
To: stands2reason
She said herself that she is part American Indian and Hispanic. Part white, mostly white but probably not white enough for some white people into their 'whiteness'.

But... but... it's not a race game, you see.
Unless you're a bigot.

Sounds like a young lady who has learned Rush's trick of "demonstrating absurdity by being absurd."
She is simply pointing out that Libs can't have it both ways -- not logically anyhow.

How many colleges have a "black student government" or "African-amercian student government" WHICH IS CLOSED TO any non-black person.
They are all racist, now they take issue over this.
Remember the fighting whities and how that took off? It was supposed to be insuliting and people found it neat-o.
To: longtermmemmory
Heh... that fightin' whities thing backfired big time thanks to Rush. I really wanted a FW tee shirt, I opted for a Barbarians football shirt intead.

remember political pandering depends on the one drop rule. One genetic drop of minority withing 8 generations and boom, YOU are a minority. (check that on your sat)
She is making a statement and more power to her.
To: cyborg
What has the NAACP done that's positive. Not much.

Yes you are right. I'm just wondering about the method. I just hope she doesn't get ruined by starting up this club.

most Americans whose families have been here since the Revolution have all kinds of blood in their veins that they aren't even aware of. Mongelism: it's what makes us vigorous!
To: TheBigB
You can't fight the pigs by standing outside the pen.LOL ! I have to remember this one.
This is what bothers me about the Republican party. As Mike Savage said the other night is that the republicans need to come out of their country clubs, roll up their sleeves, and start fighting the left in this culture war that we're losing.
