Hispanics Largest Growing Population In Idaho

By Associated Press
BOISE -
Idaho's Hispanic population grew three times faster than the state as a whole in the first two years after the last census.
Leaders of the state's largest minority say that puts more pressure on public schools.
According to new estimates from the Census Bureau, the state grew at three-point-two percent overall from mid-2000 to mid-2002, with the Hispanic population jumping ten-point-six percent. Only 13 other states saw higher percentage growth in their Hispanic groups.
Gladys Esquibel, who heads the state Commission on Hispanic Affairs, says schools must change to address the needs of Hispanic students. The latest results from the state standards achievement tests show that more than half of Hispanic high school sophomores failed.
Mexico has public school up to 6th grade. They don't have anything compared with "high school", what a follows is a college prep course that is for those going onto college.
II love salsa...but if it means I have to constantly look at the city I grew up in (Houston) get trashier by the day, and my hard-earned money going directly to educate schoolchildren in their native Spanish language, I'll forgo the salsa and switch back to saurkraut.

Just the fact that they have a state Commission on Hispanic Affairs is a real bad sign; much less that shes an imbecile.
It is hard to be optimistic on the future of the country isn't it? One thing though, what we see with the party groupies on FR is not representative of the feelings in the rank and file across the country.
As you know, there is a lot of growing anger within the Republican Party over the insane immigration and trade policies of this administration. By this time next year both issues will be even greater hot button issues. If Bush continues on his present course (which he will) he could find himself with a serious republican or 3rd party challenger. Not that that will change anything but it would send a message to the political class that times are a changin.
Mexico, and Mechistas like Cruz Bustamante, are not seeking a literal takeover, they just want to suck as many tax dollars as possible out of the federal and state treasuries for benefit of Mexican nationals.
Nonetheless, the illegal immigrant community in Chicago is huge, and growing by leaps and bounds.
It must be Polka that draws them. They really dig accordion music.
Mexicans just go out and purchase any document they need to accomplish what they want. They couldn't care less whether the document is valid or not. It is just a means to an end. That goes for drivers licenses, legal residence, work permits, SSNs, credit cards, home mortgages, you name it.
The rest of the country thinks it has it bad because it has to subsidize illegal aliens. In San Diego, not only are illegals subsidized, but so also are Mexican citizens who reside in Tijuana. They borrow a friend or family's address and collect welfare, WIC, SSI, or send their kids to SD public schools. They are treated at San Diego hospitals. Meanwhile, they've never even lived in the United States. They are able to cross the border thanks to their BCC (Border Crossing Card) visas, which have a duration of 10 years. The same BCC enables them to cross the border every week day to go to work in San Diego, even though they do not have work authorization. Soon, these individuals will be lining up for California drivers licenses.
In another 5 years, she'll have the numbers to run for governor and win.....
You bet.
The rest of the country thinks it has it bad because it has to subsidize illegal aliens.
They do?
The illegal aliens appear to be lining up in many states

15 States License Illegals To Drive

Amid the outrage over California Gov. Gray Davis' decision to sign legislation allowing illegal aliens to obtain driver's licenses comes the stunning revelation by immigration experts that the Golden State is neither unique nor alone: 14 other states also allow illegal aliens to drive legally on their highways.
While many of those states Alaska, Connecticut, Idaho, Louisiana, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Utah, Washington and West Virginia have had such laws in place for some time, they have become increasingly scrutinized since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, say analysts with the Federation for American Immigration Reform.
