I am very happy that we have a basement. Also, we are on a hill so even though the ground is totally saturated, at least we won't be flooded out. The people at the bottom of the hill will probably need lots of help in the coming week. Lots of the houses at the bottom of our hill are right next to the Brandywine River. The houses are built on a floodplain. Apparently, when they were built, people weren't enforcing local building codes. Monday it flooded.
I don't know if we will make it into work tomorrow...
I don't envy the flooded people...altho, it's odd that some folks can't get it through their heads that building codes are there for a reason....
