During the "March blizzard" of 1993 I made pallets for all of us in the hallway, which was the only place we had without outside walls. For a time I seriously thought the windows on the south & west sides were going to blow in.
The downstairs of our house is all open except for a center load bearing wall that is about 10 feet long. So, every wall down here is an outside wall. I have to say though, since the house was brought in in cubes, and the walls filled with some kind of super foam, I feel better down here than upstairs.
If it gets really bad, I'm hitting the basement.
