Watchin' the waves on the MSNBC web came. Some guy is now yelling for Dave. Those waves are about level with the top of the pier. How tall are those piers, do you think?

Wild guess on pier height - 20-30 feet above normal water level.

FOX just reported that trees are down in Virginia along many secondary roads, which is commeasurate with 90-100 MPH winds.

WOW!!! Why anyone would choose to stay & have a hurricane "party" is beyond me. Such stupidity!

They just said the strongest winds were just now hitting Occrakoke (?sp). I'll be watching this cam as long as it is available---nothing like watching the forces of nature. It certainly puts life's petty issues in perspective.
