I'd rather spend time visiting a ethnic club catering to my particular ethnic heritage than with a generic Caucasian club.
I don't think that the point this young lady is trying to make, is to form a club that would have little central purpose. I think she's trying to make a point about the separatist side of the exisiting groups. The fact that she's gathering support to submit it to the principal is a sign that she's trying to shine a spotlight on the current rationale for clubs. It's one thing to have clubs that support activities that are chosen, and another to have clubs based on what you cannot change.
Call her a troublemaker, if you like, but most social change is caused by such people. Maybe she's trying to make a point to get into a good college, it will likely backfire, but I'd send ten bucks to her scholorship fund.
