Is everyone planning on whipping it out, yelling "BOO!" and then busting the bad guy?
Actually if it came to a life or death situation I'd just shoot the perp instead of yelling "Boo!"
But you would loose the apparently desireable ambiance of the "whip-out."
If you were to open carry, you could prolong the moment and get the full effect of the perp's supprise as they would realize immediately that you were not performing an innocent move, but that you were "reaching."
