Not so much fear but pepetual pi$$ed-offness, I think. They're mad because their extreme views aren't accepted by reasonable people.

ie: Buchanan in America and to a much lesser extent, McClintock in Red California (Which is not filled with "Reasonable people like America is, but too many Leftist).

They REFUSE to accept reality.
