This is not possible. Only several days ago some goof here said Bush had things firmly in hand and things were getting better. Are you asking me to disbelieve what people here tell me?

If you focus on one small incident out of the whole panorama, sure it will look like the whole world is going to hell. This is the disadvantage to modern news reporting and modern news watching habits. It distorts reality. The picture we have of reality is grossly twisted by the constant stream of bad news and the constant focus on any particular event/problem. Our picture/concept of reality bears little resemblence to what actually exists. But we feel ourselves to be more informed because of the torrent of information in which we swim.

Perhaps Baudrilliard is correct- we exist already in a hyper reality in the West (and particularly in America).
