There are a lot of people in Seattle (excluding me) who, living under rain-soaking skies 392 days a year, do not consider a latte a luxury.

Honestly, there is a connection. Some of us here use coffee to replace sunshine for the lift it gives.
And for any who don't have the whole story, it seems the chief objection to the dime extra tax is, First the lattes, where will this stop? I don't blame them. I'm glad it went down.
Children's early educational needs should be paid for by all the voters, not just the coffee drinkers.
They resented being singled out for their supposed luxury of drinking espresso.
