I don't have to know. I don't even particularly want to know. However, it is obviously, blatantly UNJUST to reveal the identity of the accused but not the accuser--or to withhold the identity of the accuser but not the accused. AND it violates the right of equal protection under the law.

It is the INJUSTICE that outrages!

What's difficult to understand about that?

It's a no-brainer!

Ok, who revealed the identity of the accused? The media did. Did they HAVE TO? No, they didn't. But they did. There is no law that says that the media has to report the names of accused rapists. They take it upon themselves to create stories.

AND it violates the right of equal protection under the law.

What in the world are you talking about? Bryant KNOWS who the accuser is. He is the only person who is legaly and constitutionaly required to know. Every party with legal interest in this case knows who the accuser and accused are. Sheesh. People aren't just picked up by the cops, arrested and not told what is going on. This idea that its unjust that every Tom, Dick and Harry doesn't get to know the identity of the accuser is ridiculous. The only reason we even know about this is because Kobe is famous.

It wouldn't bother me a bit if there were no laws protecting the identity of the accuser, but the current laws are violate nobody's rights.

To make the proper parallel, how many of those false rape charges were made without identifying a perp? This seems to only count rape "claims" and not rape "charges".

It is unjust for the identify of the accused to be made public if the identify of the accuser is not--no matter who reveals the identity.

If the law insists that the identy of one be withheld but allows the identity of the other to be revealed, then the law is unjust and should be changed. Such a law violates the right of equal protection under the law.

I don't know what's so difficult about this, Hurkin. It's very simple.

I would prefer that laws protect the identity of the accuser, but only if they also protect the identity of the accused.
