"An iron-seeking salvage team tried to blow it up soon after the Civil War."
Don't worry, the Marxists will be screaming for that to happen now. Can't be reminding folks that people actually valued states' rightasdf0uqw3opfiquw091cj

The difference between the title and the actual finding, remind me of when I went looking for 1970 Mercury Cougar "in nice condition."

Know where there is a really nice 64 mustang, for about twice what it's worth.

Now if they would just find that missing nuke out in the marshes outside of Savannah, we would all be much happier.

Cool! Thanks for the ping.
BTW, I will have to get back to you on when that VA field trip will be.

Now if they would just find that missing nuke out in the marshes outside of Savannah, we would all be much happier. There is also one missing near Goldsboro, NC.
As I recall, a B-52 broke up in mid-air, and one bomb was recovered, while the other one was buried so deep it could not be.

GOOD!
now if we could just find some of the other rams that survived the WBTS.

I'd prefer to remember her in all her glory, let her keep rusting. Meanwhile, let's keep the millions that were allocated and pay back some debt.

We are talking about the same missing unrecovered nuke and it is somewhere out in the marshes, outside of Savannah.

"We are talking about the same missing unrecovered nuke and it is somewhere out in the marshes, outside of Savannah. No, we are not.
It's been a while since I heard the story but there is ALSO one near Goldsboro, NC, which is about an hour from where I live.
I did a Google search & found this:
Missing bombs are called a legacy of the Cold War"In one case, two bombs fell from a B-52 as it broke up over Goldsboro, N.C., on Jan. 24, 1961. One of the bombs parachuted to the ground safely, but the second free-fell and hit the ground. The thermonuclear portion of that bomb, which contained uranium, could not be recovered from waterlogged farmland despite excavation to a depth of 50 feet. The Air Force purchased an easement prohibiting digging at the site and left the bomb there."
This is a totally different bomb than the one lost near Savannah, the so-called Tybee Island bomb.
To: Constitution Day
Sorry, this is first I have heard of it. But two missing nukes really makes me worry.
To: Paul C. Jesup
You and me both.
I'm glad I don't live any closer to Goldsboro [or Savannah, for that matter].

Same here.
