If they actually received the $$, I would certainly hope they have to.
I am not sure if they received it or not, though.

Personally, I think most Republicans are jellyfish. However, this is the Houston Chronicle. Take what they say with a grain of salt.
To: seamole
I had heard about the spinelessness of the Texas GOP seamole,
that was my point here:

My take is:
I had heard about the spinelessness of the Texas GOP
You've very well expressed the point here that I was trying to make to you in the other thread. I just think it effects more of the GOP than just the ones in Texas.

I'd be in favor of getting rid of the fines for each senator who publically admits they were acting like babies.
To: MeeknMing
Do you mean did the money actually pass through their hands? If so, that ought to be irrelevant. The fine is in their names and they are responsible for coming up with the payment. If someone else pays it in their name, it is either a bribe or a donation.

The fines were not paid. I expect they may be dropped, much to my dissatisfaction ...

Find your incumbent and vote the Dems out of office. And vote in Republicans with spines. I can't believe this story.

The Senate also must resolve the issue of fines and penalties imposed on the boycotting Democrats. Privileges including parking for the senators and their staff have been suspended. Today, the Senate Republican leadership replaced small, easy-to-move orange cones with a much more substantial device barrels weighted down by large tires similar to those used by the highway department.

Even if there was a coup, we'd just replace spineless car salesmen with perfumed princes. LMAO!! We agree on that!!!
I'm just afraid that if we had a 100% GOP congress, 51% of them would find a reason to be spineless.

And guess who is resigning from the Leadership of the Democrat party in Texas.......
AUSTIN Molly Beth Malcolm of Texarkana, chairwoman of the Texas Democratic Party, announced her resignation today, effective Oct. 25. My obligations at home are now such that I can no longer devote the necessary time and attention this job requires, Malcolm said in a statement. ......
Malcolm, a former Republican, has chaired the party since the spring of 1998. During her tenure, the party lost its last statewide office and fell short in the 2002 gubernatorial race pitting a largely self-funded nominee, businessman Tony Sanchez of Laredo, against Gov. Rick Perry.
The GOP holds 29 of 29 statewide elected positions.

The fines total $57,000 and until they are paid, the Democrats lose other perks, such as prime parking spots around the Capitol.Losing their perks, their parking? This is horrible! How can they stand it?!?
Their punk @$$e$ oughtta be in jail, for Dereliction of Duty.
