...gave way to handshakes and warm embraces...*Sniff* - that's adorable. Now, double the fines...

I hope they get their pay docked six weeks as well as the fines.

If they (GOP) want to go so far as to forgive THAT PORTION OF the fines that exceeds the reasonable estimate of the per-chicken COST OF HAVING TO HAVE ANOTHER SESSION -- including staff and Rangers overtime, utilities, etc. -- then that's OK with me. The per-chicken amount is probably substantial, yet probably less than $57,000.
But there is NO WAY that the fines should be lessened by any greater amount than that.

The Rats got to spend a month in a cheap motel, wound up looking like fools, and accomplished absolutely nothing as a result. I'd say those idiots have been punished enough.

This is for the Dems in the Texas state house after they lose the redistricting vote. It's the smallest violin in the world playing a sad, sad song.

They must Pay!!!

See my #6. I don't see how Dems can make a convincing case that they shouldn't have to reimburse the state for the marginal added costs (per Chicken) of the additional special-session-time. That's gotta be at least $10,000 for each of the 11 Chickens; probably more like $20,000.

Typical []ing republicans. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. They will forgive the fines and will wimp out on redistricting-not all the way,it will be a little better-but nothing like what they wanted.
Lemme know when the conservative party gets started, Im sick of the GOP (Gentlemenly over policy)

I absolutely agree with you! I'm going to ping you from a couple of threads. The Tom thread I want you to weigh in on and the AZ thread is F.Y.I.

"Texas Senate Democrats will appeal a federal court ruling that dismissed their lawsuit over GOP-backed congressional redistricting. The Democrats are taking their case to the U.S. Supreme Court."

"All of us are professionals," said Sen. Royce West, D-Dallas. "We can disagree without being disagreeable."
I just shot your damn dog Senator Roycester. Nothing personal you understand, afterall, we can disagree without being disagreeable.....
I have lost a lot of respect for Texas over the past couple months......

Do they have to report these as campaign donations or loans? Remember the grief they gave Gingrich over money he borrowed from Bob Dole?
