A Fox News spokeswonman said: "It's better to be viewed as a foot soldier for Bush than spokeswoman for al-Qaeda." Oddly enough, that's exactly what I said when I heard her original "foot soldiers" comment. I'm glad the guy at Fox had the brass to say this.

Raise? Nah.
Excuse for being fired from CNN, to jump ship to the BBC? Or CNBC? More likely.

Well, she was partly right. What happened, is that she heard someone talking, picked up a few sentences, made the wrong conclusions, and ran with it.
CNN was intimidated in its coverage of the Iraqi war, however they were intimidated by Saddam Hussein. And they had been intimidated by Hussein for several years before the war. CNN executives admitted this. CNN was right to yell at her. She got the story only partially right - again.

Christiane, to publicly suggest that this network is "intimidated" by a Republican Administration is outrageous, and we will not stand for it. Surely a correspondent of your experience is familiar with our basic positions -- must I review them? We are intimidated by all dictators and regimes that oppose American interests, and broadcast their propagada without comment. We encourage and support Democratic Administrations, increasingly so as they more further to the left. And we are implacably, relentlessly hostile to Republican Administrations.
Is that clear?

The most memorable image I have of Amanpour is when she was at a media symposium, and was asked a question by the member of the audience.
They asked why the coverage of Rwanda was so pathetic, and why the media always tries to form a moral equivalence between two sides in a war. The point was that it is rare when two sides are equals... one side generally is more moral and respectful of life.
She started to cry and said that the media is responsible when they do not point out the atrocities, and only try to be balanced.
The problem is, I don't think she learned the lesson when she was asked to consider that her personal bias can affect not only the morale of our forces, but the innocent people caught in the crossfire.

CNN GIVES CHRISTIANE 'PRIVATE' DRESS DOWNPLEASE DO NOT USE CHRISTIANE AMANPOUR'S NAME IN THE SAME SENTENCE AS "DRESS DOWN."
Or with the name of Janet Reno, Helen Thomas or Madeline Albright.
To: Pan_Yans Wife
I don't want to see her dressed down. E. D. or Ann, OTOH. BTW, isn't it incredible how men's minds start in the gutter and work down from there?
To: Pan_Yans Wife
I sent off a email to CNN, expressing my outrage at her pompous sanctimony and narcissism. I hope others did the same. Amanpour is really beypond the pale - The BBC or Reuters would be a bettor home for her anti-US bias.

A Fox News spokeswonman said: "It's better to be viewed as a foot soldier for Bush than spokeswoman for al-Qaeda." This pretty much sums it up. What about this doesn't CNN understand??

I sent off a email to CNN, expressing my outrage Me too, but months ago after Eason Jordan admitted they were Saddam lackeys - I see no reason to watch CNN for anything.

"was intimidated by the administration and its foot soldiers at Fox News."
BWAHAHAHAHA!!! What she meant to say was that they were on the take from Hussein, and hoping not to get found out. Louts. There's a ton of new information about how the press wined and dined the Iraqi murderers, for the sake of "access". (See Instapundit.com) Once having gained access, they did nothing with it...no whistle-blowing, not even a "tut" about mass murder and rape. And now she wants to pin their ratings woes on Bush and Fox. What a laugh!
Perhaps CNN (and other networks) should be tried for war crimes as an accessory to the fact...or at least for withholding information about Human Rights violations.

If Christianne Amanpour is a"Reporter",then I must be a Brain Surgeon!!
To: Pan_Yans Wife
With that hag, it's probably better that her dress be down, rather than up. Ditto to Yoko Onooooo by the way.

Next step is to come up with this list:
- Pull her string -- and she blows up!
- Pull her string -- and she blames Bush!
- Pull her string -- and she disses Fox!...
Others?
