A kidnap/murder charge is more likely to get a DP conviction than a simple murder charge, because it carries with it the aggravating felony of the kidnap and all the premeditation that implies. Kidnap/felony murder laws are probably the most stringent ones left in CA and in most states (the Lindbergh Legacy).
A solictor of such a crime would be equally guilty as the one who actually committed the crime.

Here's the answer about CA, and this should put to bed any speculation that this bit about Cory Carroll is somehow traceable to Geragos. I mean, I know we're used to assuming it's more of Geragos' droppings when we see a story with characters named things like "Skeeter" and "Dirty", but this one surely did not come from Geragos. He has nothing to gain from it. And if it's true, it's deep doo-doo for Scott.
