Scott's dad: Inmate wrong
A Fresno County Jail inmate is wrong about Scott Peterson meeting Nov. 29 in Fresno with neo-Nazi gang members to talk about kidnapping Peterson's wife, says Peterson's father, Lee. It could not have happened, Peterson said, because his son -- accompanied by his wife, Laci -- drove from San Diego County to their Modesto home on the 29th, the day after Thanksgiving. The couple spent the holiday with the Peterson family in Solana Beach, Lee Peterson said, and left for home at noon on the 29th. The car trip normally takes six or more hours. An article in Saturday's Bee told about inmate Cory Lee Carroll's claim that he arranged a meeting between Peterson and two members of the Nazi Low Riders, and heard Peterson mention to them "something about kidnapping Laci." She disappeared just before Christmas, and her husband is charged with murdering her and their unborn son. Their bodies washed up on the eastern shore of San Francisco Bay in mid-April, and Modesto police continue to search the bay for clues. Detective Doug Ridenour police spokesman, confirmed that police returned to the bay on Saturday. "We were there," he said. Police and a Contra Costa County sheriff's dive team were in the Point Isabel region of the bay on Friday."
