Why did you make three replies out of this? Bah. Anyway... Since you asked, I'll answer: I am posting in a midlled of my 100+ work week, and it was easier for me to do that in small portions.
Since this is more important to you than substance, I will not reply to your last post.
Have a good day.

I am posting in a midlled of my 100+ work week, and it was easier for me to do that in small portions. Yes, very busy 100+ hour week, but time enough for thirteen posts this morning alone? I see.
Programmers made as much money as engineers, but until mid-1980s a programmer did not even need a college degree.
AH! Now I see what you're up to. You view programming as a blue-collar trade skill which is pretending to be white-collar. How dare IT people pretend to be professional class. To the gutters with you, dogs!
ROFL. Until the mid-80s many programmers didn't have an IT degree; they had math or engineering degrees instead.
(One of my) degrees reads B.S. from the College of Engineering. You can take your elitism and ... work it into your "100+ hour week."
I still don't think we need government slamming the door, but neither do I see the need to have government intervention in the form of a radically expanded H1B process. Just return the visa program to its normal size; obviously if we can displace 900k jobs to H1Bs the crisis of finding enough American IT workers is over.

It's OK and not really even that important. I just like to source my comments. I was only pointing out that IMO-
a) There are subsidies that are anti-competitive that favor foreign workers.
b) The taxpayer takes it in the shorts over some of these subsidies. WE fund NGO's and non-profits that do not contribute to the tax base and would not be able to compete as a legitimate charity if they were deprived of grants and their non-profit status. Even for the ones that are partially funded by fees, we still pay for government oversight, administrative costs etc.
Many non-profit groups are getting funds for causes that almost no-one on this thread would support. Often, they engage in political activities in direct violation of their non-profit status. In order to have a truly "level" playing field, these would have to go.

I think this is one sign that we are dealing with an "imposter" or a sock puppet. They need a certain personality while they attempt to dominate discussions. Why would someone come to these threads over and over again if the issue has little impact on them personally? If they have a certain philosophical perspective, I have yet to hear of any of it from them (2 in particular). It just seems odd that these discussions would be so important even though they are not affected personally, especially for anyone living a normal life.

People who live normal lives are on FR???

A nice conservative crowd we have on FR...
What makes them conservatives? The hate of foreigners? Most are as anti-corporate as the leftist of them all. They definitely spit on Judeo-Christian values by easily calling someone a crook or worse. If this is the conservative movement, nothing will help this country. Europe is socialist, and we headed in the same direction.
To: null and void
Hehe, maybe not.
To: TopQuark
"What makes them conservatives?"
A better question might be what makes *anyone* conservative.
To: JohnSmithee
Oh look, now that we're watching, he's talking to himself...
