Today's opinion is the product of a Court, which is the
product of a law-profession culture, that has largely signed on to the so-called homosexual agenda, by which I mean the agenda promoted by some homosexual activists directed at eliminating the moral opprobrium that has traditionally attached to homosexual conduct.
LAWRENCE et al. v. TEXAS - Scalia The exemplary condemnation by the Torah of the most serious crimes attacking the family are in fact a system of judicial protection of the integrity of that foundational institution of society. In this way society protects itself from its own inherent tendencies to self-destruction. What our text tells us is that if such crimes are tolerated by any society, if they are covered by the leniency of Law courts and, worse still, if they come to be legitimated by laws which institutionalize crime, the inevitable consequence will be the destruction of the nation itself. SODOMY The Christian Confronted by Homosexuality
The prestigious Journal of the American Public Health Association has devoted a substantial portion of its latest edition (AJPH -- Table of Contents (June 1 2003, 93 [6]).) to the risks associated with homosexual practices.
The following statement is one of several that glare at readers from the journal's cover: "I gave my lover everything including HIV. I didn't mean to. We made a mistake. Maybe deep down we felt it would be better if we both had it..."

They insist redefining marriage to accommodate same-sex and non-monogamous partnerships will herald the demise of Western Civilization. Are they right? Yes. Anyone noticed the condition of Africa lately?

Monogamous marriage is not unique to the Jewish religion. The ancient Greeks and the Romans were all practicing monogamous marriage. Their practices were essentially untouched by Jewish beliefs or actions until quite late.
It is pretty hard to argue that such polygamous societies as ancient Eygpt or Sumaria weren't highly civilized either.

Long article but well worth the read. I agree with almost everything except the part about Hindu monks and nuns having sex. First of all, in traditional Vedic religion (aka Hinduism) there are no nuns; religious ladies either stay in the home or become unofficial renunciates. In fact older ladies in the home (traditional families are extended - many generations in one family) are expected to guide the family in spiritual and religious duties and teachings.
And Hindu monks are NEVER permitted sexual contact of any kind; they're not even supposed to be alone with a woman for any reason. Sexual morality in the Vedic scriptures is every bit as clean and narrowly defined as in traditional Christianity and Judaism.
