The Florida electorate had the right to remove the rogue judges. That wouldn't have helped Bush, but it would have done something even more important: It would have upheld the concept of federalism.

Again, since Florida involved the election of the only nationally elected official, it was appropriate for the USSC to be sure the laws were followed. The federal government has no reason to be involved in the recall election. I disagree with your view on the Florida fiasco, but I agree with the principle of federalism.
