Judging from this, I'd say the kid's the loser in this mess.

Other than cell phones being legitimate tools in an emergency, they are annoying, distracting, and a waste of time. I once went out with a girl who was a slave to her cell phone. It was really quite sad.

The father might buy one.

Parents' Battle Over Girl's Cell Phone Heads To Court (Dad Loses)

Doesn't this guy have a clue? Fathers lose 90% of the time in "family" court. Install a cell phone jammer in the house. If the phone is on his account, have the damn thing shut off. If it's on the mother's account, there isn't much he can do about it. "Mom" will just use this as a wedge between this man and his daughter, as is public policy in almost every courtroom in what's left of the republic.

Can't mom be a big girl and call the child at the dad's home number? I'm sorry, if my 13 year old daughter was posting adds on the internet, I'd forbid the phone too.

Children of divorced parents are just out of luck.

Of course there is the rare case where kids are better off after divorce, but those cases are rare. Much, much more common is a situation like this.

How can you help your children if you have to go to court to decide whether or not having adult strangers call her up on her cell phone in response to an internet personal is acceptable?

Because, the court will probably have no problem with it...
