This is good news. Not only is the Colombian military putting the heat on FARC and ELN, but they are probably going to absorb some of the stuff that the AUC has to an extent.

Castano was very efficient, which leads me to believe that chap had a good intelligence network. That alone will be worth its weight in gold. Maybe the AUC will fade away, but some element will be kept "off the books."

One thing for sure: The State Department owes Mr. Castano an apology.
