LOS ANGELES (CNN) -- Yetunde Price, the oldest sister and personal assistant of tennis stars Venus and Serena Williams, was fatally shot early Sunday, according to Raymone Baine, publicist for Serena Williams.
Price and Serena Williams were recently profiled in People Magazine, which is owned by CNN's parent company, AOL Time Warner. "This is extremely devastating news," Bain said. "They are a very close-knit family."

As wealthy as the williams sisters must be by now, I cannot imaging why thier oldest sister would be in that armpit known as Compton.
I understand ties to where you grew up, but even I can imagine someplaces where nostalgia ends and living safe begins.

This is the 3rd thread on this.
Did you happen to do a search first?
Prayer heavenward for this family. <><

I sincerely doubt that any Williams family member still lives in dangerous Compton...IMO, she mut have been meeting someone or had some other reason to be there.

We are such a celebrity driven culture. To me this is not national news at all. The fact that there is a standoff with three killers with AK-47s is news. Just because your the sister of very good tennis players dosent make me interested in your untimely death. This is local rather than national news.

I agree with you. I am sad when anyone is murdered in cold blood. I could care less if her sisters can hit a yellow ball with a raquet better than most.

There have been 5 threads on this situation already. Please don't tell me to chill out. Do a search next time. Thank you.

Price and Serena Williams were recently profiled in People Magazine, which is owned by CNN's parent company, AOL Time Warner. "This is extremely devastating news," Bain said. "They are a very close-knit family." And... why is the CNN/AOL Time Warner angle important to the story?
I'm sure the Williams family, or any of the readers of this story, could care less.

31, divorced mother of three. I think she's a product of
a different mother than the tennis phenoms. I was amazed to
find that this story was reported at least a half hour earlier on FoxNC than on CNN.
