HOUSTON -- A pit bull attacked a boy and a Houston police officer near downtown Houston Friday afternoon, News2Houston reported. Pitbull Attacks Officer, Child

Officials said the dog escaped from its fenced-in yard in the 2000 block of Gano at Noble around 3 p.m.

The dog bit the boy, 9, as he was walking down the street, witnesses said. An ambulance transported the child to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

When a Houston police officer responded to the scene, the dog came up behind him and bit him in the left calf. The injury was a minor flesh wound, according to authorities. The officer was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital as a precaution.

The boy and the officer were both treated and released.

Animal control officers took the pit bull into custody, where it will remain under quarantine for 10 days.

Hehe... the dog on the picture looks nothing like a Pit Bull. Probably a mix of some kind, but definately not a pure bred Pit.
