It was a total party-line vote...disgusting. I watched the deabte. Next year, employers will have to buy cars for their employees.

I'm just wondering how many small businesses we will have left? Several years back my parents-in-law moved to Washington State, because it is easier with their business there. We are following in 2004.

The health care providers?

There are other horrors. For example; I have heard on the news tonight that a Bill is going to the Governor requiring 100 % pensions upon retirement. Well! California is the State that may bring things to a real crisis. It is beginning to look as though the actions of the 'Chandala' in Sacramento are part of the opening act of a long and bloody play.

No kidding. How many small employers will now start hiring 1/2 time employees to avoid this requirement? The larger ones will just move across the border.
To: AEMILIUS PAULUS
Those 100% pensions are only for police, fire fighters and prison guards, I think.
To: So Cal Rocket
say the legislation is desparately needed by low- and moderate-income workers They desperately need their JOBS more than they need health insurance, and as sure as I'm typing this those people will LOSE their jobs if businesses are forced to do this. It is clear that Doofus Davis is in scorched-earth mode now.

This should also be a further incentive to outsource and use "independent" contractors.

interesting thought - can a civic-minded person make a citizen's arrest on a public official?

If my business was in CA it would be gone before the first of the year. I would be "outsourcing" my business right back to NM. lol They need to recall all the idiots who voted for this bill. You're right. It is disgusting.

Davis has decided that he's gonna put the unemployed Californians to work with moving/relocation companies.

This is probably the last nail in the coffin of small business in California.

That whatI thought. However, I believe such pensions are only the beginning unless there is intervention.

They should just pass a law requiring business to pay a minimum wage of a million dollars per year.
That would solve every problem.
Imagine the tax revenue they would be able to collect and use it For The Children.
