A woman found with two illegal guns and ammunition in her car told police she had no idea how they got there.
Cardiff Crown Court heard that Reehana Joiya, 25, was arrested after the discovery of the pistol and revolver, together with banned hollow-pointed "dum-dum" bullets.
Prosecutor Roger Griffiths said the bullets were "too dangerous" for anyone to own because they were designed to expand upon impact to cause maximum damage.
He said HM Customs and Excise officers were carrying out observations and noticed a parked black Peugeot parked in Roath, Cardiff. Police broke into the vehicle and discovered the guns and ammunition.
"The two guns are less than 60cm long so to have them is prohibited by the Secretary of State. No one is allowed to possess them. The dum-dum bullets are designed to expand on impact. These too are prohibited .They are too dangerous to possess without the authority of the Home Secretary," Mr Griffiths said.
The car was towed to Fairwater Police Station, and, when Ms Joiya went to report it stolen, she told the police she had "no idea" how the illegal property had got into her car.
Ms Joiya denies two counts of possessing a prohibited firearm, two counts of possessing ammunition without a certificate, and also denies possessing prohibited ammunition. The trial continues.

Gotta watch those dum-dums... can't have bullets that "expand upon impact to cause maximum damage." Stick with the minimum damage ones...
I'm so grateful to be able to pick up a few boxed of .40 S&W while grocery shopping here in sunny Michigan.
Tested out my new CCW yesterday too. My folks back in the UK would have a fit if they thought someone shopping had a pistol on them.
The UK / EU is truly doomed.

We'll be doin' CCW here in MO soon, now. Still can't believe it. Legal armed protection for the honest law-abiding citizen.
This nightmare-inducing post is Bob Holden's vision of a better Missouri.

Prosecutor Roger Griffiths said the bullets were "too dangerous" for anyone to own because they were designed to expand upon impact to cause maximum damage. You stupid British retard. Bullets that expand on impact are safer for everyone involved except the person getting shot. Expanding bullets have less a chance of going completely through the person and hitting someone else.

"Do maximum damage"!That's the whole idea you dumb "Brits"!

Since Britain was hit with so many car bombs during the Irish "troubles", their constabulary probably have different authority with respect to checking out suspicious vehicles.
If the Islamonazis set off a few hundred car bombs in American cities, I think you will find similar relaxation of controls on authorities "checking out" suspicious vehicles. Wartime conditions tend to produce more authoritarian state behavior, and the behavior tends to continue well beyond the conclusion of the war. Habits once cultivated are not easy to reverse.
Perhaps this person is a moll for one of the local fans of Islamization of the West?

I spent 10 years living in Cardiff. Once had a guy walking about in my yard and refused to leave. The law is absolutely crazy there - no right to protect property. The best we could do was ask him to leave. He wouldn't and was getting angry. So we called the police and reported an intruder. They're supposed to come along and ask him to leave, and if he won't they will escort him off the property.
About an hour later a cop showed up - they guy had wandered off after 20 minutes quoting "Property is theft" and other demented ranting. The cop said he was the only one on duty within 15 miles that day.
Our place was popular for "Steal and Burn" car thefts being on a quiet country lane. Kids would steal cars, roll them over to steal the wheels, then torch them. The sound of an exploding BMW outside your house at 2 in the morning really makes you jump.

The dum-dum bullets are designed to expand on impact. These too are prohibited. Of course some could refer to the round as a boat-tailed jacketed-hollow-point. I only buy dum-dum-light 158gr .357 cartridges.
The work around is that I have to shoot the perp twice. /sarcasm
Sheesh.

Actually hollow points are more safe to innocent bystandards because they dont go through walls or ricoche (i have no idea how to spell that) as easy.

Man, I guess I'm glad that here in the USofA the only people you have to worry about breaking into your car when you park it are criminals.
I wonder if the officers took her radio or did she remember to take the face plate off?

My neighborhood store here in Montana sells groceries, beer, bait, licenses and ammo and rents movies all in one convenient location.
