>>>You can say Arnold is not a conservative but you cannot say he is not a Republican.

Oh yes I can and I will! And here are the facts to dispute your contention that Arnold is anything but a liberal (RINO) Republican.

Many people call Arnold Schwarzenegger a moderate Republican. He calls himself, a social liberal and fiscal conservative. There's nothing conservative or moderate about Arnold.

*Arnold doesn't back tax cuts and spending cuts, which is part of the GOP agenda. In fact, he can't even produce his economic recovery plan for California, until after the recall election. The obvious reason for this is simple. Arnold has no economic recovery plan for California.

*Arnold has never indicated support for the basic tenets of fiscal conservatism, tax cuts and spending cuts. Nor has Arnold mentioned anything about supporting supply side economics, or "Reaganomics".

*Arnold doesn't back the pro-life position of the GOP platform. Arnold is pro-abortion and that is in direct opposition to the GOP platform.

*Arnold told Bill O'Reilly the other night, that he doesn't understand the issue of border security and how it relates to militarizing the borders, in order to stop illegal immigration and possible terrorists from entering the US.

*Arnold wants more gun control legislation for California.

*Arnold supports special rights for homosexuals.

*Arnold opposes Prop54.

*Arnold hired a BIG-TIME liberal Democrat, to test the the waters for increasing California property taxes and promptly got his head handed to him on a silver platter.

*Arnold says, he wants to bring businesses back to California to increase state tax revenues, thereby, getting California out of the red. He says this will improve the states social welfare programs and allow them to recieve the proper funding needed to run more efficiently. Yeah. Give the people what they want. Social welfare entitlements. That's not a conservative talking. That's high minded liberal talk.

*Arnold doesn't support oil drilling off the California coast, nor does he support drilling in ANWR either.

*Arnold won't even debate his opponents. He is running from the debates and instead goes on with Bill O'Reilly for a softball interview.

These are Arnold's positions on the issues. They're not in agreement with the conservative Republican agenda and the GOP platform. Arnold is a liberal (RINO) Republican and seemingly, an empty suit to boot.

Supporting a candidate with life long beliefs as the ones you posted shows how sad some Freepers have become. After the last years they have learned nothing. The promotion of such ideals should be enough to bring shame to any patriot.

But the promotion of a Liberal continues.

Anyone that says to the world that his hero is Warren Buffett belongs with the Rats.

You should compare Arnold's positions with what Ronald Reagan did in office.

While Reagan was governor, did he end abortion? Did he seal the borders against illegal aliens? Did he end the social welfare system? Did he institute a color-blind government? Did ne get oil contracts off the California coast or in ANWR (which BTW is in Alaska). As president he did not evenend the DOEducation, as he promised to do if elected.

Either Ronald Reagan must have been an abject failure in your view, or you are applying unrealistic standards to current candidates. McClintock may have good ideas that we all agree with, but he cannot implement them. Period. He can't do it.

Arnold has the right ideas on all the issues where he will have an impact. That's in the area of state spending and taxation. You want to get worked up about abortion, go ahead. But first look at what your namesake was able to accomplish during a long and successful career in politics.

I don't live in CA and don't have a horse in that race, but Arnold scares me a bit. He doesn't seem to have any solutions to the problems in CA. He's a popular guy and he's probably a pretty good Joe, but as a Republican and a conservative myself, he just doesn't cut it for me. I don't know what the solution is in a case like this. If I were a Californian though, I would vote for McClintock because his values most closely parallel my own.
