The Schwarzenegger candidacy...does not serve California's people, and, by failing to do that, it ultimately guarantees failure for Republican political fortunes in California, certainly in the long run, if not right away.

The Republican party in California is dead. Dead. They can't fog a mirror.

IMHO Arnold might be able to rebuilt it. It's clear that McClintock and the other so called "leaders" have had a chance and have driven the wagon over the clift. Give someone else a chance.

Sorry bubba. McClintock is not a party leader. He's on the fringe of the party.

The leaders are much more moderate.

Oete Wilson did not rebuild it the first time. (In fact, look at where we are after him) So why is Wilsonism going to do better the second time around?

BTW, the party is not dead, the leadership just doesn't like the voters.

Is that the Montgomery "clift?"

The problem with the California GOP is NOT conservatives, it is RINOs. If you are a Californian and actually pay attention, you know the names Paul Horcher and Doris Allen, and know the damage they did to the party in the late 90's when the GOP actually could have seized control of the state Assembly when Pete Wilson was Governor. Both were recalled from their districts as a result of their betrayals.

Before leaving politics, Assemblywoman Allen fired off a vicious parting shot about how Republican Assemblymen came up short in the manhood department, which raised the unasked question, "How does she know?" It's like Jack Nicholson once said -- "My mother never saw the irony in calling me a son of a b*tch."

Give someone else a chance.

Democrats have already had their chances.
