Driving in to work this morning, I was struck by how similar everything was to that morning two years ago. Like then, the weather is perfect. Deep, blue skies. Mild temperatures, nearly zero humidity. The kind of day you just want to forget about work and go fishing. In fact, that was the same feeling I had two years ago as I drove into work - not realizing, of course, the events that were just a couple hours away. In fact, it is quite possible that the two hijacked planes out of Boston passed right over my head that morning as the Logan flight path often comes over my office building.

Anyway, I think it is important to give credit where credit is due. We have had zero major terrorist incidents on our soil since then. We certainly have the terrorists on the run and Bin Laden has been reduced to making cheesy, grainy videos in some darkened mountain hideaway (if even those are legitimate videos). Saddam is out of power and on the run. The Taliban has been decimated. Most of Al Qaeda has been killed, captured and the rest are not having a very easy time of it. As I write this the Israelis have Arafat the terrorist surrounded and his number may be up as well. Let's hope the Israelis do what must be done this time.

I hope we keep the pedal to the metal on this war against terrorism. We must never let up and never get complacent again.

I was thinking about that video last night. I thought, if it real and true, then how fitting. What is the difference of him hiding in the mountains or being in jail. Granted, he could plan and scheme, but we now have our ear to the ground. Is it not ironic that Bin Laden - a millionaire - has to hide in the mountains, cowering in fear for his life, while we - the ordinairy Janes and Joes of America - still go to work and do our business, fearing nothing. May God bless everyone in the world.
