Yup -- that is the 1st Wednesday in May. We didn't make it this year either. I spoke with folks that night who had been there and folks were real disappointed this year. They had upped the number of tickets to be sold and food started running out rather early.
How about the running of the ponies? I've always wanted to be there for that.
Pony Penning is the last (or next to last) Wednesday of July, the auction is Thursday, and they do the pony return swim on Friday. I will check the dates on that.
