Hey, I was 20-something then. Long ago and far away and in another universe....

That wouldn't bother me, but if I'd gotten to the hotel and it turned out she had mag rims, I'd have run like hell.

Perhaps the lad was fired up by the stirring words of Dr. Dean, who a while back counseled,"the problem now is how to govern, and that's where the real rubber is underneath the road."
Indeed, most inspirational.

I don't get it. What crime is this guy guilty of?
If he offered nothing would a crime have been
committed? How about an evening out on the town,
dinner, a movie, and then a look at his artwork
at his apartment with a nice bottle of champaign
in exchange for a "romantic night"? Would a crime
have been committed now?
Suppose instead of tires from his place of employment,
he offered a diamond necklace or ring? Or suppose he offered
her a new car or a new place to live? Where's the crime?

since I didn't want him mad at me while my car was in pieces, Just for future reference if you ever find yourself with a bad tranny and no money, don't put out until after it's back together! :-)

Where's the crime? He wanted extra "favors" for the balancing.

"Where's the crime?"
His offer placed a monetary value on her performance and had him soliciting prostitution. According to this logic, she could have been arrested had she accepted.

What is the "just damn" reference mean? I find it pretty clear.

And, of course, he must have been ugly.

An employee of a tire dealership in Athens has been arrested on charges that he offered tires to a woman in exchange for sex. How come offering a woman dinner and a movie in exchange for sex is called dating, and offering 4 steel belted radials is called a crime?
To: and the horse you rode in on
With four tires and wheels, there are more "nuts" that need to be messed with. You stupid "lug."
To: ChemistCat
I agree. I never would have imagined that he could/should be arrested. Whatever happened to "No, thank you." or "Get lost, creep?"

What's the difference between an old tire and 365 used condoms?

Hah! There are 3 Tires Plus stores here but it didn't say which one. I only live few minutes from any of them. Glad I now know NOT to go there.
I have one question though. How did the man get her phone number?
