ATHENS -- An employee of a tire dealership in Athens has been arrested on charges that he offered tires to a woman in exchange for sex.
Athens-Clarke County police say 42-year-old Gregory Wade Mulligan of Maysville was charged Monday with solicitation of prostitution and pandering.
Police say the 25-year-old Athens woman decided not to buy the tires from Mulligan at Tires Plus because she thought they were too expensive. She told police that Mulligan telephoned her later to say he would give her the tires if she would meet him at a motel and have sex with him.

Reminds me of the lady who went to the Western Auto store for one hinge. After a lot of looking the clerk found her one solitary hinge which he gave to her. As she was leaving, he innocently asked "Do you want a screw for that hinge?", to which she replied, "No sir, but I would for that mixmaster".

"An employee of a tire dealership in Athens has been arrested on charges that he offered tires to a woman in exchange for sex." I think she got angry when she discovered the tires were retreads, and his tube needed air.

That guy's apparently looking for some REAL action!

I am no cheap slut,,I will require shrubbery trimed, trees trimmed, gutters cleaned, walks steam cleaned, house washed and garbage taken out. what kind of woman do you think I am!!! As if!! The very idea!! for a yard cutting!! I am insulted!!! I don't think he wanted to marry her :-)

Sorry - I meant the legal analysis for banning prostitution itself seems lacking, not this specific case. But it will probably be a case like this which will get some state's law overturned.

I never tire of FR humor! Sometimes it is flat, some have overinflated ideas of themselves and some are good for all seasons but some just tread on my ideas.

"what kind of woman do you think I am!!!"
Sounds like that has already been determined and you two are just haggling over price at this point : )

I once had a comparable offer from a guy who had my car in pieces in his yard, a (very good) shadetree mechanic who was rebuilding my bad transmission. It was an awkward situation diplomatically, since I didn't want him mad at me while my car was in pieces, but he didn't force me, took no for an answer, and did a good job fixing my car for cash.
I wasn't particularly happy to have that situation to deal with but I can't imagine having turned him in to authorities for it. Unless a guy is threatening or won't take no for an answer, how can it be a crime? A sin, yes, but a crime?

White-wall tires?

More than likely, the guy got to the motel and found out her "tread wear indicators" were showing...worn clear down to the belts. :)
To: Bluntpoint
LOL. I think it was 10%.
To: ChemistCat
Well, a hard mechanic is good to find...er vice versa.
Glad you were able to reach an amicable settlement, but I wouldn't have wanted to be in the shop while he was boring out your cylinders.
