Glad to see you aren't biased in these penguin pings. I actually like to switch between Gnome, Xfce and KDE. That's another thing wrong with Windows. One desktop is

I stick with KDE because I'm too lazy to learn how to set up and use something less bloated, even though I would probably be much better off doing so.

Unless you are using one of the challenging distributions like Debian, Slack or Gentoo most distros will allow you to choose a desktop on login. Try looking at your graphical login box for this feature. Glad to be a helper here rather than a troll.

Oh, it's not a problem of setting up the desktop. It's a problem with configuration and learning the nuances of the desktop once I'm using it. I'd probably find it easier if I tried...but, as I said, I'm lazy.

Let's hope we DON'T see the former members of my ping list on this thread. I tried to start up a good post yesterday
about paying Darl McBride's phony "invoices" when PIGS FLY
and they come along and ruin it. I am really beginning to see that THEY are the cause of Linux and SCO posts turning into flame wars and name calling sessions and not the Linux People.

I'm not pulling ANYTHING. I just got "schooled" while you were doing whatever you do on the weekends by TechJunkYard and Liberal Classic that a lot of what I've written in there just might be WRONG!!! Needless to say I will have Mr. Robinson or whoever else moderates this site remove that from FR at his convienience.

Gentoo will let you choose a window manager (/desktop) as well. You just have to build/install the choices you want, as well as the display manager that will let you choose.
Personally, I don't need them. I use my Linux systems via SSH 99% of the time -- only as file/web/mail servers. X is installed, but the only times I use that is with Xfree86/Cygwin on a Windows desktop.
To: Coral Snake
You might be able to get your past posts deleted, although I do not think it should be allowed and it is weak for you to even request it. Just do not go around saying that Golden Eagle is responsible for any flame wars when your very own posts were by far the most outlandish ever posted on the subject. That particular one was only 10 days ago.

.. your very own posts were by far the most outlandish ever posted on the subject. That's why we just had to "turn" him.
You're next, Eagle. ;-)
To: TechJunkYard
I just issued a formal apology by Freep Mail to Jim Robinson
for that article as well as for my other outrages from before last weekend.

And by the way I took responsibility for my own behavior in the that letter even though I said it was influenced by certain people here. Except to give some well deserved credit where it was due I did not mention any screen names involved out of CHRISTIAN CHARITY.

That's cool. I do wish some of your former thread buddies would get the hint and tone down their anger and venom just a tad. Things would be a lot more fun around here.
To: Coral Snake
So I guess this kind of stuff is just A-OK with you now:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/976122/posts I hope hot. You couldn't have just completely given up on your principles, could you? Or has you and your new gang's hatred of M$ now trumped any former moral compass you may have had.
To: Coral Snake
Here's another article I just found I didn't even know about. Nice comments by the Freepers there, I'm far from alone on this.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/978691/posts But since you now support Red Flag, I guess you and your gang will all go attack them now.
To: Coral Snake
Let's hope we DON'T see the former members of my ping list on this thread. I just arrived. Hope it doesn't ruin the OSS "love in" going on here.
